Is it bad for your ears to listen to music frequently using head/earphones?

Answers:
Yes it is!
Per minute of close voice in the ears (i.e. less distance of the eardrums from the source of sound/music) multiplies the bacteria by 1000times. Hence, people who hear lots of loud music or hear the music using headphones get earwax frequently (and get deaf faster).
could you repeat that? i couldnt hear you!
only if the music is too loud. the rule of thumb is that it's only bad if someone who doesn't have them in can hear your music.
what did you say ??
It depends on how loud it is and how much your ears can take
No! As long as you don't have it blaring in your ear. If you have it up real loud, then yes it would be bad for your hearing.
Not if you keep it at a reasonable volume. Have heard that is should be low enough to hear normal talking in the room.
yes because using them would increase the bacteria living in your ear and if the music is to loud it would hurt your ear drums
That's what they say. Most people listen to music at levels that are way to high for what ears can tolerate. People begin to destroy different levels of hearing, and they don't realize that they're even doing it. Once its gone, is gone!!
It really all depends on the volume at which you listen to the music. As long as it isn't blasting so loud that people around you can still hear what you're listening to, I think you'll be ok. Keep it at a moderate level if you must use headphones frequently.
It's not the amount of time it's the amount of decibels that damage the ears. Check this website.http://www.webmd.com/hw/health_guide_ato.
If you listen too loudly for more then 1hr day, it could cause permanent hearing damage.
yup cause it might damage your eardrum, our eardrums are sensitive to noise
Been doing it for years. Have great hearing. I can hear stuff other people can't. There is evidence that it does, it fact, damage your hearing. Just don't listen to it so loud that other people around you can hear it and you'll probably be okay.
One thing they say is that if you have an ipod and if the volume is higher than 1/3 of its max volume it is bad for your ears.
Yes. not only from the volume/etc thing that people are always talking about, but also because wearing headphones for only FIVE minutes increases the bacteria in the ears by up to 10,000%!
No. Its bad for others who wish to talk to you. -VIJO
yes bcoz the tympanic membrane may get destroyed due to acute vibrations
Just don't let your ears do anything YOU wouldn't do.
only if its too loud.
No -- it's bad for mine.
The whole younger generation is going to be deaf. Any continual loud sound can over time damage the hearing and some ear phones have been especially incriminated.
Depends on the volume.
