Is amoxicillin or amox-clav safe to take while pregnant? doctors or nurses andsers only please?

for a serious ear infection, insurance hasnt cleared yet so i cant see a doctor, but i had an ear infection 2 months prior to getting pregnant and i recieved a double dosage so i have the full 10 days left.
p.s. im in my first trimester
Both amoxycillin and clavulonate can cross the placenta, but there are no reports of harm to the fetus. It is considered 'safe' in that no harm has been demonstrated, but like all mediciations, use in pregnancy is only considered if the benefit out weighs the riskd. Bottom line - ask your doctor.
Call the pharmacy where you got the stuff and ask them. They should know.
Please see the webpage for more details on Amoxicillin.
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while taking amoxicillin, call your doctor.
